Batteries - Batteries should not be disposed of in the general waste bins.  Please collect batteries and return them to the Office in the Main House for correct disposal.  Batteries disposed of in landfill can corrode resulting in the release of chemicals that can contaminate the soil and water table, this can potentially be harmful to humans.

 

Almost 110 jumbo jets worth of batteries are sent to landfill unnecessarily each year. By recycling batteries we can reduce the number of chemicals that get back into the environment, and lower carbon emissions by recycling the materials used to make them.
